Updates Hub

Active Matter already plays on PC through the Gaijin Store. Matter Team ships client patches to that build first, then the same notes apply when you transfer a Gaijin purchase onto Steam. This hub is the wiki map of those notes: what actually changed in raids, which systems moved in the Shelter, and which wiki pages to reread after you download.

The live client as of 4 September 2026 is patch 0.4.0.62. Red-dot sights no longer slow ADS, and the Replicator and Refiner now live in the Workshop instead of occupying Shelter floor space. That hotfix sits on top of 250 Shades of Liberty (27 August 2026), the largest content drop since Early Version: Downtown raids in North America, Airport in Africa, a pouch-and-pocket inventory, one-use medkits, new vehicles, monster work, chronogene charges, and fusion on the Replicator.

Start with the featured notes:

  • 250 Shades of Liberty — Downtown, Airport, weapons, inventory, medicine, vehicles, and crafting.
  • Patch 0.4.0.62 — red-dot ADS, Workshop tab, pouch volume, raid list, plus 0.4.0.44 through 0.4.0.55.
  • Steam and Console — storefronts open 15 September 2026, Gaijin-to-Steam progress transfer until 23 November 2026, edition matching, and the no-wipe policy.
  • Gigastructure — Park, the megastructure, Gravity gun, Harmonization, Vanilla Mall, DX12.
  • Fire Walk — Dam, Open Dogorsk, titan plates, Isolated edition gating.

How this wiki tracks patches

Matter Team publishes full bullets on the official news feed. We do not reprint every line. We group the changes that alter how you raid: maps, extract rules, weapons, armor, anomalies, and Shelter tools. After a gun or plate pass, open the weapons tier list, loadouts, or armor tier list. After a new zone, start on the maps hub and the matching raid page.

Hotfixes after a major drop matter. 250 Shades shipped with a dense follow-up week: 0.4.0.44 (Vehicle Transfer contracts, American off-roader substituting pickup trucks), 0.4.0.50 (Turned Soldiers always drop enriched loot, Hellhound spawns at Headquarters), 0.4.0.55 (Monolith room and furniture, fusion on a dedicated Replicator slot, scout-drone handling), then 0.4.0.62 (red dots, Workshop tab, pouch volume, raid list). Full recap: Patch 0.4.0.62. If a clip from late August disagrees with what you see in Shelter, check the patch number on the login screen.

Major content drops

Fire Walk (18 December 2025) added Dam, opened Dogorsk to contested play, reworked armor plates and Body Sleeves, and introduced Shy Girl, Scorch, and Mimic Car. Isolated-raid access moved onto editions instead of tickets. That is the armor and monster baseline later patches still assume. Full recap: Fire Walk.

Gigastructure (1 April 2026) added Park, Alpha Flowerman, the gravity gun, Harmonization, Vanilla Mall for Nexus Battles, DX12 and Vulkan betas, plus FSR, XeSS, and frame generation. Graphics API options from that drop remain in the current client; read system requirements before you force DX12 or Vulkan. Full recap: Gigastructure. Raid routing is on Gigastructure raid. Harmonization rules are on Harmonization.

250 Shades of Liberty is the North America and Africa expansion. Downtown is avenues, ruined towers, school buses, taxis, and Police / SWAT patrols that still run distorted protocols. Airport is hangars, military crates, and a plane hung in a gravity well. Dalniy Island raids gained more valuable loot, color-coded rare-loot icons, monster clusters, and simultaneous matchmaking. After the recap, read Downtown, Dalniy Island, and raid types.

Storefronts, editions, and wipes

PC is playable now. Steam, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5 storefronts open 15 September 2026. Gaijin owners transfer the same edition plus progress to Steam until 23 November 2026. Elite Squad owners receive Premium on Steam (no extra keys); gifted Standard keys become Standard on Steam. There is no planned wipe for those storefronts. Progression pressure comes from Harmonization and self-wipe, not a forced reset. Details live on Steam and Console. If you are still choosing a pack, compare editions before you pay a Gaijin upgrade difference.

New operatives should still start with Getting Started, controls, how to extract, and how to beat anomalies. Patch notes assume you already know a raid timer, a safe container, and a portal. For a verdict on whether the current build is worth the buy, read the review.

When a download finishes, skim this hub, open the matching featured note, then jump to the map or loadout page that the patch actually touched. The official Discord is faster for same-day hotfix reports; this wiki is the durable map once the notes settle.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

What is the latest Active Matter patch?

Patch 0.4.0.62 on 4 September 2026. Read the 0.4.0.62 recap for red-dot ADS, the Workshop tab, pouch volume, and the 0.4.0.44–0.4.0.55 follow-ups on top of 250 Shades of Liberty.

Where should I read 250 Shades of Liberty?

Open the dedicated recap at 250 Shades of Liberty for Downtown, Airport, inventory, medkits, vehicles, and crafting. Then read Downtown and raid types for how those raids actually play.

When do Steam and console storefronts open?

Steam, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5 storefronts open 15 September 2026. PC is already playable via the Gaijin Store. Progress transfer to Steam stays open until 23 November 2026. See Steam and consoles.

Is there a wipe for Steam or consoles?

No planned wipe. Harmonization and self-wipe remain the reset tools. Edition bonuses and your CAM balance persist through a self-wipe; stash items and Monolith progress do not. Full policy is on Steam and consoles.

Do hotfix notes belong here or on map pages?

Balance and Shelter moves stay on this hub and the featured update pages. Spawn, loot, and extract changes also get a line on the maps hub and the matching raid page so you are not hunting patch text mid-raid.
