Active Matter Dalniy Island
Soviet industry, gravity scars, and the raids you will farm first.
Dalniy Island is Active Matter’s home zone: a temperate island of marble substrate, rusted Soviet industry, labs that should have stayed buried, and gravity that no longer agrees with the ground. Most operators learn extraction here before they ever see Downtown avenues. Loot still leans Warsaw Pact — Turned Soldiers carry Russian and former-bloc guns — with rarer Western weapons as a tell that other timelines are bleeding in. This page is a raid atlas, not a lore dump. Pair it with raid types so you know whether the instance is Isolated PvE or Open PvPvE, and with loadouts so you do not bring titan plates to a swimming puzzle.
The island is not one match. You queue a named raid on the island: Shegolskoe, Factory, Park, Ozernoe, Scrapyard, Cargo Port, Military Base, Dogorsk, Dam, Headquarters, Gigastructure. Some of those raids exist in Isolated, Open, Distortion, Overgrowth, or night variants. Night now throws aurora over the water, which is pretty until it silhouettes you on a Dam catwalk. Rare loot icons on the raid select screen tell you which instance is worth a key this queue.
Park
Park sits between Shegolskoe and Dogorsk and is the greenest, worst picnic on the island. Flowermen camouflage in flower beds; Dendroids own the treeline. The greenhouse is the landmark. Underground labs under that glass are the reason the Agency still cares — Sector Flora and the creatures that got out. Fire is not optional. Flamethrowers and incendiaries beat S-tier ARs here; read how to beat anomalies before you treat poppies as decoration. Walking through the flowers or harvesting active matter from them wakes the nest. Alpha Flowerman is a boss, not a loot pinata you knife. Isolated Park is a PvE exam. Open Park is that exam with a second squad who also brought fire.
Shegolskoe
An abandoned village on the southern edge. Gravity ripped houses off their foundations and left them hanging. You will jump, portal, and fall. Pack a compact primary from the weapon tier list — Scorpion, PP-2000, M4A1 — not a PKM. Polyethylene or light ceramics beat titan; if you go into the drink, steel XL is a coffin. Distortion variants make the floating streets worse. This is the raid that teaches you why the Gravity gun exists, even if you cannot extract that gun in one piece.
Dam
The hydroelectric dam that used to power the island is quiet, half-killed by a submarine frozen in the air above the lake. Interior admin buildings and turbine halls hide high-value gear for people who can clear tight stairs without spraying a belt. Long catwalks favor SVDM and M110A1. Open Dam is a sniper tax. Isolated Dam is a loot run if you watch the timer. Bring a sidearm for the interiors and a DMR for the spine of the dam, not two LMGs.
Headquarters
Military bases, command blocks, civilian streets, and an airfield that still looks like someone meant to leave. Turned Soldiers are the ambient threat; they can flee now instead of marching into your muzzle. Headquarters is the early ceramic and PASGT / A3 farm — southern gas station, signal post, and the portal that sometimes sits on that same circuit. Open Headquarters is PvP over those crates. Isolated Headquarters is how budget kits on loadouts become mid kits. Overtime versions such as Assistance Protocol shrink extract options for violators; pack for the clock.
Gigastructure
A gravity-warped brutalist labyrinth that restocks itself. The dedicated raid page is Gigastructure. Layouts rhyme between runs; loot, routes, and enemies do not. Time on site is finite. When an iteration ends, the safe zone contracts and a purge wipes anything not inside an elevator. Elevators are the only confirmed purge shelter: no PvP inside, time-limited, then a lobby between cycles. Play it like a speedrun with pockets, not like a Factory loot circuit. Compact AR, empty pockets, Gravity gun if a supply drop hands you one. LMGs and titan stacks are how you miss the elevator. The Agency brief is blunt: do not hold the same corner for ten minutes.
Dogorsk and the rest of the island
Dogorsk is the southeast city: Distorted that grow pale, porous spikes out of plaster and brick, Alpha Mimic spawns, and Open PvP after it stopped being Isolated-only. If you are on a Distorted investigation, this is the remains farm. Ozernoe sits beside it as a quieter village raid. Factory (Malie Chelni) is hangar PvP, Hangar keys, and campers. Military Base is Armory 1/2 in barracks 1/2 — AK piles behind keys you should craft in the refiner. Cargo Port is the northeast gravity harbor: barges around a black gravity well, Devourers, the Port Crane key at the end of a portal puzzle, then a swim to extract. Scrapyard is Distorted with denser metallic spikes and a lot of junk that is not worth a chad kit. Euclid mounds of deformed earth show up on the south coast, especially near Shegolskoe and the factory — treat weird ground as a fall hazard.
North of all this, a large airport used to feed the Soviet mainland. That is island geography, not the separate Airport Africa raid. Do not confuse them in the queue list.
Loot, keys, and what to bring
Soviet guns and belts are the default: PKM, AEK-971, AN-94, SVDM, Gepard on Turned Soldiers. Western drops exist and are rarer. If you want a suppressed SCAR-L farm, Downtown is more honest than praying at Scrapyard.
Keys that belong on Dalniy kits:
- Port Crane (Cargo Port puzzle)
- Armory 1 / 2 (Military Base barracks)
- Hangar keys (Factory)
- Military crate keys (portable, often used next door to Port)
Craft spares from fuses and Black Mill cassettes. Leave a pocket empty. Color-coded icons on raid select tell you when the island is spawning better than average loot; monster clusters are high danger, high tier.
Modifiers: Distortion (thermals, compact guns, headsets). Overgrowth (Park rules on more of the island). Night aurora (pretty, silhouettes you). Isolated versus Open is a raid type choice, not a POI choice — Dogorsk and others exist in both flavors depending on patch and edition.
Kit reminders: Isolated Park = fire + Pulse sleeve. Open Factory = suppressor + EDH-Gen V. Cargo Port = light plates, Port Crane key, ammo for Devourers (they drop a lot of active matter). Gigastructure = empty pockets, elevator discipline. Steel titan on Shegolskoe is a meme, not a plan — see armor.
Learn extraction on Isolated Shegolskoe or Headquarters before you take a chad kit to Open Factory. The beginner guide and how to extract still apply: the island will happily keep your M4A1 when the portal is on the other side of a gravity well. For the city counterpart, use Downtown. For queue rules, use raid types. Patch notes that add raids (Park, Dam, Gigastructure, aurora) live on the updates hub.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
Is Dalniy Island one raid or many?
Many named raids on one island: Park, Shegolskoe, Dam, Headquarters, Gigastructure, Dogorsk, Factory, Cargo Port, Military Base, Scrapyard, Ozernoe. Queue the POI, not “the island.”
Where should new operators start on Dalniy?
Isolated Headquarters or Shegolskoe. Headquarters farms ceramics and helmets. Shegolskoe teaches gravity without Downtown SWAT. Read how to extract before Open Factory.
Which Dalniy raid needs a flamethrower?
Park, and any Overgrowth modifier. Flowermen and Dendroids punish bullet-only kits. Incendiaries are the budget substitute.
How does Gigastructure extraction work?
Each iteration ends in a purge. If you are not in an elevator when the timer hits, you are gone. Elevators are safe, time-limited, and PvP-free, then you pass through a lobby into the next cycle.
Where do Port Crane and Armory keys go?
Port Crane is the Cargo Port gravity puzzle and barge crates. Armory 1 and 2 sit in Military Base barracks 1 and 2. Craft spares in the refiner and leave a pocket empty for a live key.
